Summer is here and so are some FAB Beauty products!!! (Jun 01, 2007)
Hello fellow makeup lovers! I know, yes it's been a while . . I've missed you, but here I am and ready to tell you what kicks ass in the Beauty Aisle.
Let me begin with the best basics in skincare for EVERY skin type!
First of all - lets get serious about our sunscreen shall we?
- VICHY CAPITAL SOLEIL 30 MEXORYL XL -- Mexoryl XL is also available in OMBRELLE and LA ROCHE POSAY sun products.
This is THE ingredient that is getting all the press and is REALLY going to protect you from UVA and UVB rays. (and keep that wrinkly skin at bay for another couple of years!) - Foundation...my real true love. ARMANI BRONZE MANIA SUMMER FOUNDATION. The lightest, most wonderful summer cover that gives you a bit of a bronzy glow and still covers your skin - feels like nothing!! Looks FAB!!!
- Self-tanner - okay ladies there are some that are really great and don't make you "Sunkist" orange. LANCOME GEL FOR THE FACE and VICHY SELF TANNER FOR THE FACE !mix a nickel size portion in with your foundation in the morning, make sure to blend onto the neck as well and you will look healthy and glowy without any sun damage.
- Cleansing our skin - my two fa ves in this area are AVENE GEL CLEANSER and VICHY DETOXIFYING RINSE-OFF FOAM CLEANSER. !takes off all your makeup and doesn't leave your skin feeling dry. Both are drugstore brands and not expensive.
- Moisturizing and Repair - aha! The NO7 RESTORE AND RENEW BEAUTY SERUM (from Boots in London, England, now sold at select Shoppers Drug Marts) [I looked everywhere and then finally found it at Lawrence and Dufferin]. . !AMAZING!! This is a product you will fall in love with. Then when it gets colder and drier in the fall you can switch to the No7 LIFTING & FIRMING DAY CREAM.
- Onto my favorite lipsticks this summer. If you are into Corals and Nudes with sexy glosses on top there are some gorgeous ones out there. LANCOME ABSOLU LIP COLOR IN "NECTARINE" and CHANEL LIP GLOSS IN #109. Try this gloss on top of ARMANI SILK LIPSTICK #16 or MAC 'HIGH TEA' LIPSTICK. The best lip liner for all of these colors, is MAC "BEURRE" CREAMSTICK LINER.
If you are into a sheer look this summer then the new SLIMSHINE LIPSTICKS from MAC (I love "BARE") are fabulous. - Gel Liners - Bobbi Brown are still the best, but try a brighter, funkier color for summer. So much fun and it won't sweat off in the heat. IVY SHIMMER INK; SAPPHIRE SHIMMER INK AND CHOCOLATE SHIMMER INK. (make sure you have a good, stiff angled brush to get an accurate line - like the one in the Perfect Brush set).
- Don't forget your MAC BRONZER in 'BRONZE' and if you like a pop of pink on your cheeks then NARS "OUTLAW" is a divine blush right now and will take you into Fall.
